Janaza help
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. If someone in your family has passed away, call the janaza committee first. They will guide you through ghusl, kafan, permission and burial.
📋 Things required
Documents
- Death certificate from the doctor or hospital (medical certificate of cause of death)
- Aadhaar card or ID of the deceased, with a photocopy
- ID of the family member giving the information
- Burial permission slip; the kabristan committee will guide you on where to get it
For ghusl
- Ghusl bed or plank (usually available at the masjid or kabristan)
- Warm water, soap, and beri (lote tree) leaves if available
- Cotton, gloves, 2 to 3 towels and a large sheet for covering
Kafan and other items
- Kafan: 3 pieces for men, 5 pieces for women (the kafan shop gives a complete set)
- Kafoor (camphor), attar and rose water
- Janaza cot (charpai) or mayyat stretcher, and a sheet to cover it
- Mayyat van or ambulance to the masjid and kabristan
